Savage Tide - Avner Meravinchi [SPOILERS INSIDE! PCs Beware!]

Avner has not been particularly bad on my group... either the DM is underplaying him, or we dealt with him sufficiently firmly at the outset that he calmed down as a result. (my tendency to treat him with contempt and pity rather than annoyance might have led the DM to give up on infuriating us as well. )

Tonight we resume!

I think it'll begin a little something like this...

DM: So Avner thuds to the ground, unconscious, but not dead. Everyone is staring at you, mouth agape...

:D

Should be a fun session. I think I'm in a lot of trouble once we reach shore.

Keep us informed. I love Avner, man - we had a fun encounter with him last night. Lots of fun.

Well, I have been asked by the lovely Captain Amella to avoid Avner, since his complaining is quickly becoming a thorn in her side.

So I've taken to not speaking with the snobbish-nobleman. I believe the last thing I said to him, after punching him out and admiring the black eye I had given him, was, "You might want to slap a steak over that. It'll help remove the ugliness."

I haven't spoken a word to him since.

The rest of my party, however, has been trying to smooth things over with him, with varying degrees of success.

With the ensuing "accidents" happening on board lately, though, Avner hasn't been too much of a problem.

Last night's session ended with one of our PCs investigating below deck all by himself. He was "held" and it took 3 successive coup d'graces to off him. (He rolled a couple really nice Fort saves...but #3 was just too much to handle.)

And none of us even know it yet.

My current theory is that Rowyn Kellani has been hiding on board. She's sure got the motive to come after us. We'll see next week. Once we discover Krogan's (dead pc) body, we're going to tear this ship apart until we find whoever is causing all these problems.

Well, I did it again. We're still sailing towards Farshore and had some issues on board with a Blue Slaad erupting from the belly of the poor priest on board. A big ol' fight erupted. At one point I was side by side with our favorite snobbish-nobleman (who has had himself appointed captain as of late, by the way) when he pushed one of the crewman to his death in front of the Slaad. I witnessed the whole thing, but the Slaad seemed a more worthy threat immediately.

After the fight, however, as Avner began to pompously stroll around the deck making sure everything was in order I clocked him again.

I ended up being flogged for striking the captain, but the crew seems to be on my side and once we hit shore Avner is in for it. I swore to Lavinia that I wouldn't kill him until then, but all bets are off once we reach Farshore.

On the plus side, Lavinia has arranged to have Avner brought off of the Sea Wyvern and on to the Blue Nixie. Sure, it's more of a direct headache for her with Avner on board, but it assures that I won't hit him again.

At least she thinks it assures that...

Great NPC. I hate his guts...in a good way.
