Savage Worlds: Realms of Cthulhu experience?

Thanks! I’m not super interested in going gritty. I’ve got games for that.

A friend asked me if playing heroes fighting incomprehensibly alien intruders from realms in which matter and energy as we know them isn’t just playing modern-day people encountering stuff seen every day on the news. I said thst it wasn’t necessarily that because it could happen in other eras.

I had a good experience on one-shots with it; no idea if it can sustain a long campaign (had bad experience with Savage Deadlands on this subject).
