A savant is a mentally retarded person who excells superbly in one particular instance, usually related to mathematics (multiplying 100 digit numbers, keeping EXACT time, playing music, etc.). This is a pretty simple template.

Max Int: 5
+20 bonus to any single skill.

Short, sweet, and simple.

Perhaps it should read

Savants gain an insight bonus to an ability or group of abilities. the bonus depends on the statistic:
-- +20 to any skill
-- +10 attack, +4 damage, and +3 threat range to any weapon
-- +20 Int and Wis checks on a (very, very, VERY) specific topic, such as keeping time or calculating square rutes
-- +15 bonus to ability score for the purposes of calculating spells per day and spell DCs only

I'd break those out - +10 attack, or +5 threat range (applied last), or +3d6 damage (as sneak attack), or +2d6 damage

It's not *actually* meant to be used by any sane GM . . . I mean, what's the use of all this crap if the guy has int *5*? It's just that Corlon had wanted to make a savant (just for fun) with like +20 atk, +10 damage, and +5 crit. I'm just trying to P him O, as usual.
