Save vs continuous damage/gluepot

Then it should have saved--the dragons we've seen so far have +5 to their saves.

yeah it did wake the last rd before it died, remember it is still slowed and wasn't able to to get away fast enough before the rest of the party brought it down, they even used all three action points they had earned, plus a crit with a daily always helps

good times but I don't expect it to happen again...ever

I was wondering when someone would point that out

Im relatively certain you can never have more than a single action point. Certainly not at first level without some kind of special feat or paragon/ed feature.

You can have multiple action points, but you are limited to using one per encounter, and getting one every 2 encounters ... makes hoarding them not as useful. However, by saving them at the start of the day, you could use them in every enounter in a row for a period near the end of the day.

There's a human feat that gives +1 to saving throws and that's probably as much as your going to see. Bonus to saving throws is a big deal in 4e, as many effects have save end conditions.

I also recall a monster that imposed a penalty to saves. Oh, and the Shadow Demon, or Shadow something, imposed -5 until you got far enough away from it. A -5 penalty is nasty. There was something else that gave a flat -2 or so; I can't remember what it was.

My point is that high-level monsters will start making the saves harder than 10+, so it might not be that rare to gain save bonuses as you level. Not a lot, of course, but I think they will be there.

I also recall that on a natural 20, all 'save end' conditions end? Or is that no longer accurate [or was it ever accurate]?

That's a miniatures only rule AFAIK. It never carried over to the RPG.

Supposedly tho a 20 on a death save means you stabilise (and can use second wind if you haven't already done so)

You can also use the heal skill to get an immediate saving throw or a +2 to a saving throw taken at the end of the afflicted character's turn.

I'm fairly certain that I read somewhere that action points could be used once per round, not per encounter. And yeah, you can collect them (1 per milestone=1 per 2 encounters). But when you go to sleep (extended rest), they reset to 1, which makes hoarding tricky unless you know what your DM's going to throw at you for the rest of the day.
