Lovely. However, I wish Mr. Schley would sell the printed map in a large format, not just 11x14, and not charge so much when the book cost me $40.

Mike (and myself) use a website called Zenfolio to handle our sales. Zenfolio offers a list of printing houses to perform the printing and shipping of photos/art you purchase from the individual artists, and we (the sellers) are restricted to whatever sizes these printing houses have available. As for the prices, the printing houses set the basic price, Zenfolio adds their fee, and then the sellers add their desired profit margins (which sometims end up being really small so as to not increase the final price too much).

That was a snapshot of the one in the book that someone posted to the reddit thread. You'll have to wait till tomorrow to be able to buy the gigantic digital version from Mike (or hope that the WotC Extra Life team gets another $10k in donations so they'll release the map for free).

The map of the Sword Coast from Hoard of the Dragon Queen has no scale on it either.

And to make matters worse, the scale for the maps used in Scourge of the Sword Coast, Lost Mine of Phandelver, and Princes of the Apocalypse don't match, even though they line up nicely.
The linked Reddit page appears to be participating in the blackout.

EDIT: Oh, this was a necro thread. My bad.

With the hindsight of 8 years, I reckon that WotC wanted to make it ambiguous if the map was.on the 3E/4E scale or the 1E/2E scale wehmthey went to print, even though they ultimately went with the 1E/2E scale for 5E.
