Yeah, that surprised me
that killing the god removes it's portfolios from the world
, but I really like that "twist". Would make for an interesting follow-up campaign. The rest of the adventure seemed fairly par for course, but I only skimmed it quickly.

The adventure is more of a series of combats with gargantuan dragons, until the final confrontation against Tiamat in all her glory.

The end result is quite epic: by killing Tiamat, god of greed, the PCs will kill greed all over their world!

[sblock]Wow... Talk about adventurers putting themselves out of work. Without greed, why adventure? There'd be nothing left but "Killing them", and no more "taking their stuff".[/sblock]

Just read through it and I like the notes that accompany each encounter; bit more than the usual. Looks like a good end to a campaign too; and since I'm running this with my players (currently on the Lost Mines) it's good to have the path all completed so I can see where it is all heading.

I wondering how the game world would look if the main villain had been Vecna (also within reach of 30th lvl heroes).

Looking at his portfolio, Secrets sure lead to some interesting thought experiments.

I think it might also be interesting to play an Avatar of Io in this campaign. Assuming the DM considers how this might change the ending...

But, but...

" The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed -- for lack of a better word -- is good.

Greed is right.

Greed works.

Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.

Greed, in all of its forms -- greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge -- has marked the upward surge of mankind."

Thank goodness it's over.

Now hopefully we can get more stand alone adventures in Dungeon (since everything seems to be Scales of War or Chaos Scar). Or get a well-connected AP. :p

Yeah, there's a big deal world-shaking event at the end. I don't know whether it's worth it or not to keep this blog spoiler-free, but for now I'll say this: To my mind, "greed" is not synonymous with "want" or "desire." Eliminating greed doesn't create a world without want...just a world without evil, destructive, poisonous "acquisition for its own sake" and "reveling in obscene wealth.

The adventure is a finale for 30th level characters about to achieve their "immortality". There are no more adventures after this, at least not for these characters.
