SL gaming questions are fine.

Drunken masters generally aren't something that's common in many places. That said I think it would help if I know how he views his character. I mean does he see himself being a perfect being through drinking or something else in entirely? It also might help to know if he views himself as a religious monk, as many monks do follow Hedrada, Corean, or some other lawful god. Shelzari monks, generally, are the opposite of most Shelzari in terms they generally prefer to ascend above the needs of the flesh. Generally. Some might go the opposite way.

Drunken masters definitly aren't that common. I have them set up as a select group of people that find you, you don't find them. And if the deem you worthy they will test you, then ask you to join.

A brief history of his character, he came from a group of people that lived out in the wild doing what they could. Their true fighters were really Monks that were taught the secrets of their ancestors. Well, his char fell in love with an outsider and did one of the biggest sins for his group, he started teaching her their secrets. Because of that he got kicked out, never to re-join his people. Well, that led him to start drinking. One of the Drunken Masters saw how well he handled his alchohol when a local villin started causing trouble and he helped to take care of it. So later they got him plastered and picked a fight =) They deemed him worthy and are going to ask him to join. He started drinking for the same reasons most drunks do, but is learning to use that to help him do good instead. He most closely follows Hedrada, he is heavy into the the law and staying impartial but he's not really a religeos nut. Just doing what is right, he also gives the other Gods their due when it is appropriate. As a group though, I don't imagine the Drunken Masters following any specific diety, that is up to the individuals. I also made them based out of Shelzar because of the free nature there, and they do give into alcholol, prefering to always be under the influence.

Does that make any sense, or am I under the influence?

Oh yeah, second question. I have a new player that wants to create a Barbarian type character and wants to be from somewhere that is always cold. Is there a place that is generally cold out, and inhabitable by humans?

Thanks much, Oh mighty Sage!

Sounds about right to me.

Makes sense. I would say that as orders go, they are pretty wild then.

No it's pretty sensible to me.

Albadia is usually pretty damn cold. Trust me it's either there or Fenrilik in the far north.

So any ideas on how I should initiate him? I was thinking of something simple like them hiring some Brewer Gnomes to really mess him up, and all he has to do is out-drink one other member, and actually wake up in the morning. Just kind of a party to meet everyone and break the ice. Most of my other ideas would probably be considered illegal and he wouldn't do =)

Well this is Shelzar. There's a lot of gray areas about what is and isn't legal. :) That being said, drinking contests are a good idea. Another might be to pick fights with Calastians, albeit covertly. Just some ideas.

Hello Sage Dude,

I have a question for you. Has there been an update and or conversion of the spells list for 3.5? If so where do I download and or find this information.

thanks in advance for your time.

Death Jester,

Sadly there are no current spell updates or conversions online. There are plans for R&R3 to have some updates from other sources, but not as definitive as R&R2 was about compiling all those sources. I think though I'll try to put that on my to do list.

Bumping along...

Btw those that like Mindscapes, I really think you enjoy Echoes since there are similiar themes.

This is kind of a goofy question, but I'll ask it anyway. In our ongoing Scarred Lands game, I'm playing a halfling wizard named Milo Greenbrook, who moved to Shelzar but still has family back in Zathiske.

I've decided that Milo's folks live in a village somewhere between Quelsk and the Bloodspur Hills. What's a good name for that village?

i warned you it was a goofy question
