Scarred Lands: Need Info

Dieter

First Post
I'm about to start (as a player) in a Scarred Lands campaign.

Are there any fan-based websites out there with any additional info that the Sword & Sorcery site hasn't down already?

Well I DO think you might want to read through the softcover Ghelspad Gazeeter. It's a good primer for players AND something of a house rule I've developed for running SL campaigns. It's basically a listing of general infor that is good for a player to know, as it's pretty much common knowledge stuff.

As for sites, like our Angel of Mercy said, so far nada. Hopefully that will change soon.

Besides the gazeteer, I'd recommend the DM's screen. It's got (IIRC) writeups for the different races and their individual mechanics.

Gazateer

Hey,

I'll let you see the gazateer on Saturday when we play, Dave.

We may have some conflict in the party, with both a Dark elf rogue and a mountain dwarf rune wizard-I think I may need some way to avoid an all out brawl. Any ideas?

Hope that the Mountain Dwarf learned his trade from somewhere OTHER than Burok Torn. Or maybe the Dark Elf wasn't born in Dier Drendal. That would be my advice Mike. Good luck keeping them from killing each other. Personally you'd might have better luck with a manticora barbarian and a human paladin....uhm then again maybe not! ;)

D'oh. Why didn't I think of the Gazeteer? I guess I've fried my brain racing to back up all the data on my hard drive before it crashes. That's a good suggestion.

Welcome to our playground, Dieter.

We already have party conflict...during character creation no less!

I'm going to love this game! :)

Mike, if we're splitting hairs, technically I claimed my character first. Although an inner conflict (between characters) is always fun to have and it's never stopped me from enjoying the game. :)

And since a 5th level wizard (cue flaming retorts) has little chance of beating me on the initiative (DEX=20), we might need some ahem divine intervention. This is Scarred Lands.

All in all, I think the "You stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours." mentality may be the best way to solve this conflict.

Nighttfall, since you're here, can I be allowed to hi-jack the thread just a little ?

I'm curious of having more infos on Yugman the Sage (I assume you have the Wise & the Wicked, me I don't). In fact, I want to know how it compare with Elminster. Not in term of power, but of "interestingness". Is the character a poorly-done clone of Gandalf, or is he something more inspired and original ?

Mmmmm, Paladin. That's all we need to ensure a brawl right during intros. There aren't any paladins, are there?
