Sci-Fi et al sue NASA

Well, the lawsuit pretty much is frivolous, since classified documents are exempted from coverage under the Freedom of Information Act. The government agencies in question are obeying the law, the SciFi channel suit isn't going to force them to do anything more than what they are already doing.
Yes and Sci FI knows this, that's why it's all a stunt, they say "hey were going to sue to get the truth", the government says "that's classified information", Sci Fi says "See there is a big cover up, now we'll do a Kecksberg 2 special". I don't care what you believe or don't believe the US government is never ever ever ever going to actually let any information get out that they don't want to get out and Sci Fi knows this. Do you really think they are going to sue and the government is going to go "ok you got us, here's Bebo the alien we recovered"? The lawsuit is frivolous because everybody under the sun regardless of which side they are on knows nothing will ever come of it. They are not trying to find out the truth, they know they can't.

These shows are cheap to make and/or license, heck some of the crap they show on Tuesdays is 20 years old and half of it is so full of crap it is actually aiding any cover up that might be out there by making anybody who believes in UFO's look retarded. Old Sightings episodes are not cutting edge journalism and backing up your supposedly investigative news report with a episode of Scare Tactics doesn't really give you any journalistic credibility. History channel does UFO shows and they are normally pretty good, with experts on both sides discussing the case, heck Discovery channel, The Lerning Channel and even HBO have done decent shows on UFO's, Sci Fi channel gives us some crackpot joker in the woods claiming to be from another planet and having alien babies in his butt. I'm sure they might have some decent shows on the Tuesday Declassified but I wouldn't know because I got tired of having my intelligence insulted by the crap they were showing around the decent shows. Let me make sure this gets understood here, I like shows about UFO's, I love shows about ghost stories and supernatural happenings but I can't stand the pathetic sensationalist crap they show on Sci Fi, the Kecksberg show might be ok, but then they will follow it up with interviews with people who believe their parents were from Ogotos 4 and that they are intergalactic emmisaries of peace and unity and some guy who claims that Satan possesed his poodle. Is a little bit of journalistic intergrity too much to ask from a channel that wants to be taken as a serious source of news? Heck the channels name is short for Science Fiction, what do they expect?(at least they cancelled Tremors the series).

LightPhoenix -- my post wasn't meant to be serious! I think you have a point, actually, because I also don't watch the Sci-Fi channel and over the years have never really been impressed with them.

I'll give the new Battlestar Galactica a whirl, though. I've always heard good things about Stargate, but have also heard it's difficult to get back into if you haven't been following it all along. Alias is pretty much the only show I follow religiously these days. Oh, and the I Love the 80s shows on VH1! :)

Although if Sci-fi picked up Miracles that ABC cancelled after stabbing it in the back, I'd change my opinion of Sci-Fi completely.

I know it wasn't serious, and neither was mine. I just had more thoughts on the issue and used your post like an old french... bread.

Which reminds me, did we have to call them Old Freedom Whores? :)

Why would Sci-Fi channel put a show talk show called Dream Tellers on Sci-fi?

A show about persons telling two psychologest about a dream they had, and psychologest analizing the dream telling the person what is the real meaning of the dream is.For some reason they are showing shows that are not Sci-Fi.

How did you know his name was Bebo?!

You're in big trouble mister!

And all this time I thought aliens were called Bob and lived among us. I guess I was wrong.

I don't understand, what could the documents obtained actually prove? In my understanding most of the "juicy" material will be obliterated. Plus, this is just Kecksburg, PA not Roswell, NM or Area 51. Oh well.

I find it amusing that at Roswell it is some of the Ufologists doing coverups now... They take you to 'the site', but the real site has been posted no trespassing by the owner, so they take you to a dummy.

They stopped showing some of the photos - somehow 'strange flexible metal' sounds better than 'mylar over plastic rods'.

The truth is out there , the lies are all inside...

I believe in UFOs, if you don't know what it is and it's flying then it fits the definition... even if it is a weather balloon.

The Auld Grump... considering that modern fighter planes don't even show up on 1970s radar do you really think a flying saucer will?
