There already is one. I forget who makes it but a friend of mine has it and says that its quite good. Its not a D20 game IIRC.

AEG used to make a Stargate game. I think it was based on the Spycraft version of D20.

It is d20, but based on Spycraft rather than d20 Modern. AEG lost the license a few months ago, I believe the current theory is that Eden will pick it up and use their Unisystem ruleset, but I don't know if that's been confirmed or is still in the internet rumour stage.

My problem is that when it comes to SF, my likes are:

1.) HArdest SF possible. Example: Transhuman Space (Hey, Jürgen, bei welchem Buch hast du eigendlich mitgeschrieben?)

I wrote about 3000 words for "Transhuman Space: Toxic Memes" (my favorite is World Tree Enterprises...).

Cool, I'll have to check it out. By the way, how would you start a Transhuman Space campaign with gamers who have never heard of the setting before? I had the idea of letting them play 20th century characters who were "frozen" in early cyronic experiments...;)

Personally, I would love to play at least a couple games of Farscape or Stargate since I love the shows (like you couldn't tell). Firefly would be interesting (just waiting for the rule books to come out) and even a game based on Battlestar Galactica.

While I love Star Trek and Star Wars, those have been done so many times I just don't have any interest in them. Star Wars basically has magic (the Force) and I don't really like Star Trek's teleporation because it would make things too easy.

I really wish AEG had done more with the Farscape license

Not always. An ion storm can always effin' interfere with the process.

Then there is always a freak accident that can either split your good side from your bad, blend two people into one different personality, or visit a different universe that is total opposite.

My dislike is nuclear apocalypse. To me personally, it's too cliched. I mean, if you're gonna want the end of the world crap, then blow the effin' planet up until it is dust. Leave no DNA stools of Humaniti alive. End beautiful story.

Well, one option is to start a campaign on Mars (See "In the Well" for details on that planet), since it is not nearly as crowded as Earth and has a nice frontier atmosphere. Being fairly isolated from Earth and its infoweb can make things a lot simpler...

The other possibility is to start in a fairly low-tech place on Earth. I always suggest Kenya for these occasions - its technology lags behind in many areas when compared with the Fifth Wave nations, but the boom resulting from the Olympus project means that it is catching up fast - and it gives you plenty of opportunity to introduce any sort of weirdness from other parts of the world...

SciFi

Well for me it's Space Opera in my homebrew Spacemaster-Setting. The chars start on earth at present time, and everything they discover brings them on a step further - most will say "baaah, spacemaster" but for my newbie-group it is a lot of fun (especially since i stripped most over-complex rules i guess). Apart from that we play Starwars D20 with a good GM, which is why i enjoy it i guess - although i play a soldier armed with a spear, stabbing enemies to death, so no real SciFi-feel here. Apart from that i played in a Fading Suns Campaign which i like d a lot, but that neither was SciFi for me - maybe because of my brother battle killing everything with a sword.

Dougal, still looking for his Plasma Repeater Rifle

The only thing that really bothers me in sci-fi is when you have a guy with a sword and a ray-gun. I mean really...you have something that weighs like one pound and burns holes in stuff and a big, sharp, heavy, dangerous stick. What's with the stick?

I also dislike aliens that look like humans with rubber foreheads, etc. Give me freaking aliens not people that look funny.

While I like real nuts & bolts scifi, with hard science as a basis, but I also greatly enjoy space opera. David Weber's "Honor Harrington" series is the best example of the genre currently. I'd love to see that setting translated into RPG form (I'd prefer d20, but it doesn't have to be). Weber's books set in the Starfire setting are also great space opera.
