I've been wanting a Dream Park product on TV for years! And after the miniseries, they could even do a true TV series set in that world.
Other thoughts on Niven's works:
1) the Man-Kzin wars stuff could be a great franchise
2) the Gil "The Arm" Hamilton stories and/or character would be good for a Sci-Fi detective show (second nay to KKR's Retrieval Artist novels)
3) the Integral Trees setting could work well for an RPG...or a movie done Avatar style.

I like the setting of Alpha Omega. It's a little indie heartbreaker, but the setting description is great (and the artwork is outstanding). You might have trouble finding it in hardcover (there's a core book and a monster manual (The Encountered), since the company appears to have went under, but you can still get it at RPGNow.

I bought Alpha-Omega early on but couldn't get any traction with it. Have that problem with a lot of indie games though. .45 Retropocalypse, Outriders, Apocalypse World, CthulhuTech, Cthonian Stars, 3:16 - all come to mind as SF settings I wanted to check out but haven't gotten the chance. Necropolis as well...

Sorry, didn't mean to becryptic. I didn't start this thread to talk about my stuff I was genuinelyinterested in getting an idea of what kind of settings people liked, so Iopened my mouth when I shouldn't have and now I sound like a shill. Oh well,Twilight Sector is what I describe as a hard space opera setting. It grew outof my long running RPG campaign using the Alternity rules. If anyone isinterested in finding out about it they can find it at DriveThru. So now I'llshut up and talk about what I should be talking about in this discussion.
Not surprisingly I like hard space opera type of settings and Larry Niven'sKnown Space is my favorite. Earlier someone criticized his writing. I happen tolike it but admit other's mileage may vary. But what I really like about Nivenis he's an idea guy. He comes up with great ideas and then finds ways to makegreat stories out of them.

What about Alan Dean Foster's Commonwealth universe? I just turned my kids on to Pip and Flinx. That universe seems like it might adapt nicely to rpgs as well.
