Not sure if all Hastings stores have the same inventory issues, but the one in Greenville, TX has all of their d20 Ravenloft and Gamma World at insane prices. The sticker on each item shows $7.99, but they ring them up at $5.59.

I picked up the Ravenloft PH, DMG, Denizens of Dread, and the first 4 gazeteers for $43 or so. Not sure what I'll do with them yet, but I just couldn't pass it up.

The Hastings where I live has done the same thing, just a few days ago.

Since I work there, I can actually explain what's going on.

We buy case lots of merchandise from distributor sales, and they go on sale for dirt cheap. They're usually in the middle of the book aisle, and there are sometimes game books mixed in there. I know we usually have a few copies of the WotC adventures, both for Eberron and basic D&D.

But yeah, they're awfully good deals. Even better with the employee discount. There are four gamers who work at our store, and I was the only one who didn't pick up a set of that Ravenlot stuff. And I didn't buy it because I already had most of 'em. ;-)

Last I looked, the one where I work had Heroes of Light, Heroes of Darkness, the RL Player's Handbook, a book of plot hooks (Legends of Ravenloft? Something like that), Gazateers I-IV, and a book of the major families. There were also a couple of Gamma World books, but since I've never liked GW, I didn't really pay attention to those.
