This looks pretty good, honestly. I like that they're going the latter day Laurie Strode route, with Sidney having a house designed to deal with Ghostfaces, although apparently not to the degree that Laurie went to in the final (?) Halloween movies.

We already know Sidney and presumably her daughter cannot die so I wonder whether they will have another trick up their sleeve to establish what the stakes are. Since this one is going to be about her family I wonder whether it will also tie back to Sidney's cousin Jill somehow.

Why couldn't the daughter die.

Or even more, why not kill Sydney and leave the daughter alive to continue the series if they want?

Personally, seeing the trailer and the ghost face guy being shot, then coming back up again reminds me why I don't watch this stuff. Even with him getting back up, one shot in the head should kill him, unless they are indicating ghost face guy is something like Michael Myers (which series got absolutely ridiculous later on) or Freddy Kruger (who still had weaknesses in the real world vs. the dream world).

The Scream series is all about tropes established in Halloween and the like. Which means a Ghostface is going to want to pull off the get back up after being shot trope. They could use animatronics or some such contrivance.

They've already tried to move the series on without Sidney once and both of those movies were good, but then culture wars happened and here we are. I think it's entirely likely they could off Sidney and let the daughter take over. They do appear to be burning the house down in the trailer, so they might well be trying to do a series reset.

And a Ghostface having a bulletproof mask would be extremely prudent and unsurprising. The whole schtick for Ghostface is understanding how horror movies work better than anyone else.
