I am the DM and im running a campaign made by a friend, who runs another gaming group. Im fairly new to 3E and therefore i have decide to run by the book, but the scroll price seems unfair compared to the rewards. I wanted to be sure i was right, before changing this and probably reducing all prices in the game with 30-40%..

Are you also going to be handing out 50% less XP and less treasuer? If not you might have a over abundance of magic.

The Campaign im running has set treasures, meaning i don't role treasure table. These treasures are low, therefore i think it would make sence to lower the prices too.. Or raising the treasures, but it would be easier to lower the prices.

What has xp to do with this ?

In english: anyone?

By reducing the price, you reduce the amount of XP it takes to create the items.

If the players gets less gold, than if you use the tresure tables, how can it change the balance of the game if you lower the prices accordingly ?
