Sean Reynolds Let Go

Nah, its fine. SKR rules, he has a loyal fan base deticated to HIM not just WotC. In fact with the WotC quality issues and the OGL i'd go so far as to say fans have drawn lines over authors more than companies. He might even make more now independently, if he and some fo the other designers don't get together and put together something. Cook and Cordell have already teamed up, will we see a holy trinity of d20? I hope so.

Greenwood has be a freelancer for years now and IIRC Bruce parted ways with WotC roughly the same time as Monte. I am curious to see which of the R&D/Editing team were getting cut because I was thinking along the lines that if they started axing designers they would cut people closest to retirement because those people generally are paid more and have a greater drag on your company via retirement and health benefits. However SKR is one of the newer guys so maybe they are axing up the seniority list.

This is all from our perspective. Maybe it was closer to SKR always took the last cup of coffee and never made another pot. AND he refused to dress up for Silly Hat Day!

I haven't been this startledat a departure from WotC since Monte left. SKR always seemed like one of the mainstays, a guy that would be there until the end. I can't see this as being good for the future of D&D at WotC. However, SKR is one of the few designers out there that could probably find work elsewhere fairly quickly, if not go into business for himself. Like Monte did.

If there is anyone I am not going to worry about, it is SKR.

With the attitude he presents, I have no doubt he will just move right on to do whatever he wants. It may be a pain for a bit, and I am sorry for that. But I can't imagine Sean letting this hold him back at all.

And with Sean's style, being out from under the WoTC writing style will probably free him up to be even more creative in the long run.

EDIT: I AM worried about the implications of this from the WoTC side.

Bruce Cordell is still and has been, without any breaks, a member of the WotC R&D RPG team. He does do some freelance work for Monte but then Monte does freelance work for us.
