Search confirmation for metallic dragon absence from MM1

I heard several times now that people are talking or at least hinting that all metallic dragons will be absent from the MM1 (and not just brass and bronze dragons which are replaced).

Is this official, if yes please give a link.

I am pretty sure that it is a misconception due to the following two news-items:
- Two metallic dragons have been removed (brass and bronze)
- Draconomicon I will only feature chromatic dragons

Agreed. In addition, with the streamlining of alignment in 4E, metallic dragons will supposedly be just as usable as enemies as chromatic dragons.

Well, I have seen several people talking about the reasons why metallic dragons were cut in some thread (most of them even agreed on space reasons, one of them even "quoted" a designer, or rater wrote that X, I think it was Mearls, said that..., but without link). So if its just a misconception I am not the only one who has it.

I wouldn't mind if dragons are absent in the MM and kept to specialised books like the Draconomicons. They deserve books of their own

I don't have a link handy, but I'm pretty sure that you won't be seeing any metallic dragons until MM2/Draconomicon2.

Considering it is from a playtester, it does have quite a bit validity.

I'm not sure about the MM, but the next Mini-Line has Metallic Dragons (one of the Card's have already been posted). So we WILL have some stats for them even if they are not in the MM.
