We get the Iron Dragon Charge, and no Iron Dragon...

Basically we have the playtester on one side, and Worlds and Monsters on the other.

I still lean towards Worlds and Monsters.

Iron is a metal. So there will be at least one.

Ahhhhhh! Good news. I knew MM1 wouldn't be complete without one metallic dragon.

I actually also liked the bronze dragon a lot, sad to see it gone.

Well don't worry Li Shenron they have said they will still bring out the bronze and brass dragons, just more likely in supplement or DDI, or Draconomicon II.

Considering it is from a playtester, it does have quite a bit validity.

Playtesters didn't necessarily get the complete ruleset.

So, I'd say the jury is still out on this one as to which dragons are in or out. I'd bet they are saving at least some of the classics for later given their general business plan, but we'll have to see.

Ah yeah, good point there. Didn't think of that. I did find it odd. One thing is to remove a couple of dragons and release them later, another matter is removing all metallic and iconic dragons from the MM1.

With dragons not being colour coded for behaviour in 4E, I would put good money on seeing a handful of metallic dragons in the MM. Especially since they have gone out of their way to mention the Iron and (was it) Adamantine dragons. Plus gold, silver and copper I reckon. At least. This is just a really poor anti 4E rumour IMO......
But I have been wrong before
