Probably "all posts by Crothian" hence the crash....

In any case, I just tried a search and it went OK, for what that's worth. And it actually was "all posts by Crothian" so I guess we can rule that out!

vbulletin currently handles searches in PHP memory, which is - ahem - slow.

vb 3.7 can be configured to use mySQL indexing, but only if the mySQL version is 4.1 or later.

Sometime in May the OS and db programs will be upgraded - this problem can be fully addressed at that time.
