Second prestige class for an Invisible Blade help

Darkness-

Since you are already focusing on the Kukri, you might want to consider "Black Flame Zealot" from _Complete Divine_. It is essentially a Rogue/Cleric PrC based around Kukris. Of course, adding cleric levels would take you in a totally different direction, so it might not fit, but worth a look IMO.

Iku Rex - Hey, that's cool. I actually considered the dervish when I started designing this character but I couldn't meet the prerequisites so I dropped the idea. Trying for dervish was why I chose kukri over dagger, in fact (because it's a slashing weapon). But even after seeing I couldn't qualify, I decided to keep the kukri for style (read: for its 18-20 threat ;)).
But now I can take the class if I swap out two feats. TW Defense would be the first to go. The second would probably be Imp Init.

rowport, Black Flame Zealot certainly appeals to me. :D Hm. Seems to need errata, though - it requires EWP (kukri) even though it's a Martial Weapon. For now, I'll just assume they meant Weapon Focus. Anyway, I'd need only 3 Clr levels to make it work and Iron Will instead of TW Defense is an easy switch.

Decisions, decisions... :)

Black Flame Zealot build at level 20:

human Rog3/Clr3/Ftr2/Invisible Blade5/Black Flame Zealot7
Feats: Combat Expertise, Greater Two-Weapon Fighting, Improved Critical, Improved Initiative, Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, Iron Will, Quick Draw, Two-Weapon Fighting, Weapon Finesse, Weapon Focus

Dervish build at level 20:

human Rog3/Swashbuckler3/Ftr2/Invisible Blade5/Dervish7

Feats: Combat Expertise, Dodge, Greater Two-Weapon Fighting, Improved Critical, Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, Mobility, Quick Draw, Spring Attack, Two-Weapon Fighting, Weapon Finesse, Weapon Focus, 1 open (Whirlwind Attack?)

Hey, always good to hear from the Sultans of Smack secretary in such a thread. :)

Yeah, you're right, I think I'll go with dervish. It's what I initially had in mind and now that I can make it work I'll go for it.

Exotic Weapon Master wouldn't work with what I have right now, though, as kukri is a Martial Weapon in 3.5. Unless there's some other dagger-like Exotic Weapon that I can use instead, of course...

I think both builds are pretty cool for flavor- really, I love the Black Flame Zealot for sheer cool factor- but the Dervish build is unquestionably more combat effective. It also sounds like a closer fit for your character concept anyway. I am glad that you gave the BFZ a look, though! :)

Kukri Thoughts

Have you considered taking the Throw Anything feat and then moving into Master Thrower with kukri? It is, I grant, another feat to spend, but it's really very helpful.
Or the old Weapon Master PC from Sword and Fist...it's pretty bland and flavorless, but it should convert easily.

If you have a high Int I would suggest taking 3 levels of Swashbuckler.

Adding your Int bonus to damage is nice.

He should know. He's going for that very same build (rogue/fighter/swashbuckler) IMC.

Munchkin ! :p

(and I'm one to talk... I'm playing a sorc8/pal2/fatespinner1 in another campaign...)

Back to the Basics

Here's a Q for you: Are you planning on running around sans armor, and what's your Wis modifier like?

2 Levels of Monk can do alot for you:

- WIS bonus to unarmored AC (in addition to INT)

- +3 to saves

- Unarmed Strike + 2 Feats (consider the results if you stun a foe with the first hit of a full attack, for example)

You can also go one level or four. Figure out what works for your CC situation, and if it sounds right to you.

One comment Re: crits... Unless you take Swashbuckler, you're not doing enough damage with the Kukris to care alot about a crit... what's an extra 1d4+Str when compared to manyd6 of sneak that don't get multiplied?

Hm, converting the Weapon Master is an interesting idea. I'll give it a look. :)

As for armor, I was thinking of magical studded leather. I don't have exact stats yet but I think Wis modifier should be around +1 to +2.

It's true that crits won't do much extra damage. With two-weapon fighting and a good threat chance there'll be many though and every little bit helps.
Hm. Still, I think I'll see if I can find a more useful feat than Improved Crit and if so, switch it out.
