Correct. Unless you're in a specific sub-realm, that specifies limited ways of ingress and egress, the secret chest will come. It is not, however, a transportation device. It doesn't move people and using it for such perverts the intent of the ritual. That's the sort of thing, that has DMs planning interesting torture for the character.
