Secret Societies

Secret societies? There's no such thing. If we knew about them, they wouldn't be secret, would they?

I think thats exactly what I find intriguing about them. They are supposed to be secret, yet there are always the suggestions. And isn't that what life is about? full of secrets that everyone knows about? I love them all. Fiction, reality...whatever. Lets start our own :D

They can be a lot of fun as a fictional construct, especially if they are a bit on the fantastic side. In the real world, of course, the normal reasons to make a conspiracy secret is that they are basically illegal or immoral, so I don't think of them as a positive force in the universe.

I'm actually reading a book about secret societies right now. Kind of a "lite" overview of several different groups. It's interesting to me but doesn't seem all that "real" to me even when it's documented historical fact.

Much ado about nothing really, at least in the real world. In the real world most "secret societies" are not much more than country clubs or Masonic lodges; rather open about their existence, you can get in if you know the right people and they do have an agenda, but then so does everyone and their agendas are usually to make money, not to rule the world.

Wake up, man! That's exactly what "they" want you to think!

;)

I'm a member of a secret society. Our current goal is to subvert American Society by creating an atmosphere of indulgence, confusion, and apathy through the use of celebrity based media and the internet.

Unfortunately, since you now know my secret, I will have to hunt each and every one of you down.

I'm a member of Opus Dei. It's nowhere near as evil or exciting as Dan Brown would have you believe. I've tried to get the guys to convert to the Dark Side, but they'd rather just sit around debating whether we should take the local orphans to a Mets game or a Yankees game this year.
