Seeking 3D poser program that will show center of mass

I'm on a quest: To find a (Mac-runnable) program that will graphically show the center of mass of a static human figure and allow me to move limbs for different poses.

Working on a sports thesis paper. I've got the math equations for CoM and can manually recalcuate each time (if necessary). But I'd like a fairly friendly interface to help graphically.

Any ideas?

I am a bit confused about what you are after. Do you want the program to calculate the CoM or do you want to use your equations that you have to do it yourself and the program only has to show it ?

Anyhow, I would say that Blender (dot org) is an open source 3D modelling package so I guess it has a Mac port. Theres lots of 3D models about some of which are of body scans. So I reckon you could import it into that and pose it and save the posed model.

You can use the Blender program to display it or else you might be able to export it as VRML and use a 3D VRML broser extension in Firefox to view it. I dont know if Blender can calc the CoM itself. I have not used it.

The VRML model def is text based as is the Alias/Wavefront .OBJ format (Prob more but I know of these for sure). You can use Perl to read and calculate the CoM from those files. Its tricky but I can run through it if you want me to. The Perl script or other program could output a VRML scene with the figure and CoM shown.

All free but a lot of effort. I hope somebody else can give you an easier answer.
