D&D 4E Seeking opinion of role of 4e monk

monk = ki striker is my opinion. Is my opinion worth anything? Not really. But you did ask

Yeah, I don't think the traditional D&D monk makes sense as anything BUT a striker. You could, of course, make ki controllers, defenders, leaders, etc, but I don't think they'd look like the monk everyone is familiar with.

Not looking at the powers as much but the philopsophy behidn a monk, I would go with Leader myself. They provide leadership to the party and morale balance. They seek to find balance in the world.

How these powers would play out, I dont have but more the thought behind the monk as I see it
