Sell me on a Fantasy series to read

Myth Adventures - the M.Y.T.H. I.N.C. series by Robert Lynn Asprin

Seconded - this is a great series. Start with Another Fine Myth

Note: Asprin wrote the first 10 books within a few years, in the 70's and 80's. These ten are, IMO, the best of the series. Then he took quite a bit of time off for various personal reasons. He finally finished the last two he contracted for, but honestly, those aren't as good as the previous stories. He then collaborated with Jodi Lynn Nye to write several more before he died a year ago.

Don't let the number of books intimidate you. Each book pretty much stands on its own (though each builds on what happened before), and they are quick, enjoyable reads.

Wasn't he in trouble with the IRS and he refused to write more books because his pay was going to be seized or something like that? He wrote about it somewhere that I read. The series is very good.

Another good fantasy series is the Riftwar Saga by Fiest. The first ones are especially and I read those for years.

You're correct. I was thinking of his divorce from his first wife, Lynn Abbey, a fine writer in her own right.

I think his ex actually took all of their IRS problems, pinned it on him and then divorced him. She got all the rights to his books since she was listed as a primary editor. Basically, she screwed him over.
