[Semi-OT, rant] Grrr...stupid post office...

First Post
I've been waiting for a shipment from TalonComics that finally came in last week, yet here it is a week later and I still don't have it! I got a note in my mailbox friday that it was in, and so went saturday around 2:30 to pick it up...only to find out the place closes at 2!

So sunday night I go looking for the card they left, which has a section where you can authorize them to leave it at your door. Well, 2 hours of searching later I gave up, only to find it the next night (monday). Sooooo...I left out the card today, and the package is still not here!

Don't these guys know I need my HackMaster and Talislanta books?! :p

Well, Canada Post managed to get a package to one of my eBay customers after I put the wrong street number on it!

I transposed two numbers and only caught it after my customer emailed me to say everything arrived safely.

I'm pretty impressed with that - guess US Post just sucks :D

Oh man, I'm sorry. :(
On a good note though when you do get your Talislanta in you will have the absolute last copy I could get of the 4th Edition 1st prints. It's completely sold out until the company can print another run.

I'm sorry about all the troubles though. :(

It's not your fault Talon, I was complaining about the post office, not you. :p

Just to clarify, when I said "it came in a week ago", I meant it came into my home town. I guess that was a bit unclear.

Ok, this isn't related to the Post Office, but it's just as silly...

For the first time I decided to file my taxes electronically. No fuss, no muss, right?

a) after filing the federal return electronically, you have to wait for a confirming e-mail (which I got in about 24 hours, not bad) stating that the return was accepted. After that, you have to put this confirmation number from the e-mail onto a form, sign it, and send it to Texas. Um, that's not paperless!

b) since I owed money (the ghost of Amazon.com came back to haunt me yet again! ;)) I also had to fill out another form and send it with the check to Kansas City. Um, that's not paperless! (To their credit I could have set up an auto-withdrawal from my bank account. That seemed like even more work though...)

c) I did my state taxes electronically, too. Same deal with waiting for an e-mail, and same deal with filling out a form and sending it in. Plus I had to attach my W2s!! What kind of kookoo thing is that?? And again, not paperless!

d) All of this e-filing cost me $15!!
