[Semi OT; Software] Medievil: Total War question

I'm wondering if anyone's seen/bought/played Medievil: Total War, the newest game by the makers of Shogun: Total War. I think it's only Semi-Off-topic becuase it does deal with the era we all seem to prefer gaming in. (sorta ;))

Question: Does this title (finally) let you do more in multi-player than simply set up 'set piece' battles and go at it? Can you, in fact, finally have Total war, with the 'on-line' country-building and subsequent fights the results of your attempting to invade the other player's (or mabye AI's as well) territory? If they haven't included that in the bugger I'm just going to have to save my cash for buying the (hopefully) soon-to-be-released Civ III multi-player (and other stuff?) expansion instead.

I have games that let me just lay into my friends on-line, I want something that'll let me build an Empire too. I tend to suck at the actual battles, I'm fairly good at buildng infrastructure though, and need that Empire to supply fodder for my fights

To be honest I can't answer your questions, but I sure hope it does... those were things I missed about Shogun, though that was a great game in it's own right.

It's on shelves now? Hmmm. Must go purchase.
