Sentient Constructs

Here's a good question... f in the extreamly rare event that a construct becomes sentient and developes it's own personality and identity and even the ability to learn new things, should the construct be able to gain class levels. If so, does it get full advances as normal characters, in that I mean could it gain ability increaces.

Can it gain in strengh? Is it no if it has no muscles to develope. Or is it yes if the advancement in strengh is supernatural in nature?

Can it gain in dextatity? Is it no because it is phisicaly inable to be more dextarious that what it have at creation. Or is it yes because it's 'hand-eye' cordination can increase.

I would beleave that if it can gain in class levels the it can gain in INT WIS and CHA because these repersent mental stats and as a sentient being it can grow mentaly.

Lastly, most all constructs have no intelegance (for example the nimblewright, MM2) So when they gain a sentient mind it would have to be at least 3. I would think it would start with this low intelegence, but maybe someone has another idea.

The Inevitables are intelligent by default, and are listed as being able to pick up class levels.

As for those that aren't... well, you could treat them as Intelligent Items (lowest mental score listing being 10 12 12), if the DM wanted.

"Extremely rare" events often point to "the DM decides what happens" when not explicitly laid out in the rules.

I personally would rule no physical stat gains without some sort of artificer or tinker at hand to help augment it. I see nothing wrong with letting it gain class levels.
