Serenity/Cortex system questions

Post questions about this system in this thread. I'll start it off.

I've read through the Serenity book a few times and can't seem to find what you should use for Unarmed combat (eg. kick/punch etc) damage?
Maybe the BattleStar Galactica book or any other Cortex books? (demonhunters, Supernatural . . .)

When is the Cortex System RPG general book coming out?

Nothing. Damage is simply the difference between your attack result and the defense without anything on top. Only weapons get that.

The BSG book already has a somewhat different rules set (especially Assets and Complications, which are now in Ranks).

When is the Cortex System RPG general book coming out?

Paizo already has the Cortex RPG System book for pre-order. Not sure how soon that means but probably . . . well soon.

As said, base damage is attack-defense.

BSG offers a trait that gives you a damage die for unarmed combat-don't know about Serenity.

Taking a called shot can upgrade the damage to wound and cause bleeding.

A small print-run of the book has been printed and sold on the last Gen Con already, but apparantly they have updated the system afterwards, so that one's a bit of a beta version, I suppose.

I was at a FLGs and perused Serenity RPG: Adventures, anybody have this or run it?
How is "Into the Black"? How do they compare if you have/played both?

I only have Out in the Black (Serenity Adventures will follow soon). From flipping through the book (havn't used it yet) it makes a good impression.

Into the Black is not a very good adventure. It is more of a railroad then I would have liked and to set up the grand finale the adventure has to remove the PCs to make sure they don't do anything to prevent it from happening.

I like the collection of adventures better but haven't run any of them.
