"Server Error" on direct message

I don't send DMs very often but on trying one now I keep getting a "Oops - server error" message then have to wait several minutes before trying again, to the same result.

Temporary glitch? New software version bug? Something else?

I just checked it is an option in the settings, the person may have inactivated their ability to receive DMs.

I was getting that on Sunday, and then I checked and I had sent the same message twice. :/

And now it would seem the message I sent @darjr got through (he gave it a "like" which I got just fine) even though it claimed at the time there was an error.

As an FYI, I just sent a DM, got the server error, and my messages show that it was sent.

Same, although I have no way of knowing if the person I sent it to, received it.
