Server problems - there IS a problem, right?

I have finally gotten to log on to the boards again.
This follows a very unsuccessful week of attempting to.

I tried to find information posted here in Meta about the latest problem, which seems like it's been a problem for almost 2 weeks now.... and i find nothing conclusive, or helpful.

Mods - or ANYBODY - is there any information about what's causing the server problems, and what is being done about it by who, and when we may expect the problems to go away?

I'm sure it's playing havoc with many member's games.
