Setting guide revision about done, need a hand though

Would you be able to give us an approx. ETA on the guide? This last quote was on March 17.
It is still with the editor. He works as a professional, so it will be a great boon to have that done! However, he's doing it as a favor (for free) so it's been a low priority for him compared to work that pays.

At this point, I don't even want to give an estimate. I am however in regular contact with him, and he tells me there's not much left to do on it.

Well, I just spoke with the editor about ten minutes ago. He's been flooded with, well, work that pays. However he is going to be mostly free from this afternoon through the end of the week, and says he's going to try to get that back to me by the weekend. This is, to me, great freakin' news since we've been waiting through one delay or another since late December >.<

Once that is back we have to add revisions and new feats that have come up; revise the Domains of the gods to be both OGL and 3.5 compliant, and some other minor editing. Then add artwork. I can have all that done in a couple of weeks.

So, I expect the new, non-Beta, official setting guide to be out near the end of the month sometime.

======================

What we really need is more people DMing online. Even if it is just a one-session deal. We need our online and tabletop DMs alike to contribute to the AREA forums and get their events integrated into the timeline updates. But that's starting to happen a bit more (at least the first part, still need to work on the timeline update participation part.)

Yep - he did most of the first third of the guide, then had to bow out. Thus, I'm having to edit it myself, and I'm not an editor... So it is taking a while :(

Well Em, I wouldn't mind working on some of it from the bottom-up of the file. I'm a nitpicker and good with spelling/grammar usually. {:^)

Also, to note Em, if you're doing the editing, drow is not technically Open Game Content, but I've seen the term used occasionally in the old T13K Setting Guide PDF. In particular I think it was in the deity descriptions for some of the dark elf-related deities, but it might have cropped up in the dark elf racial description or elsewhere as well. Drow is one of those things like beholders, illithids/mindflayers, and such that are Product Identity of D&D and not part of the OGL or whatever, as far as I know.

Yeah, we have gone to dark elf exclusively throughout the new one (unless we missed some instances...) When I get a chance I'll upload it and you can work on the last book and appendices, sound good? Just post your email or send it to me at "emiricol AT emiricol DOT com" :)

Do you have enough Art EM - I can't lol

my 3d programs are toast and I just haven't had time to try in that department - doubt I could do a good d&d origional work myself anyway *smiles* maybe a patchwork quilt of others well hidden lol - but not origional.

And I'll have to bug my art friend again - h'es even more forgetfull than I

- but just a note - Zildrax's dad is very talented - and made up a lizard folk for him that's awsome - if he was willing to donate some work in exchange for credits and retiainining rights to it - you could have an amazing book.

As far as editing - I'm a pretty good writer with some training - but spelling and editing - I'd suck (hey shakespear couldn't spell - why should 13 kingdoms need to)

I do know a couple of trusted people who are good at that - if you wanted to outscorce for help.
