[setting mix] How would you mix Midnight (Fantasy Flight Games) with the Iron Kingdoms (Privateer Press)?

(I originally posted this at RPG.net)

Here's my idea:

Izrador falls to earth. Morrow and the rest of the Iron Kingdom deities are cut off from their followers, with the possible exception of Cyriss, Maiden of Gears (no one really knows for sure). Izrador tries three times to take over the world and somewhat succeeds on the third try (the Iron Kingdoms form as a result of his second try, with the signing of the Corvis Treaties).

Khador falls first, and a large portion of Khadoran military (with War Jacks) and civilians (with standard Steam Jacks) escape overland through Ord to Cygnar. The armies of Izrador follow, rolling through Ord and Llael, before they're stalled on the border of Cygnar. Millions die in the fighting and fleeing.

Izrador makes use of the few Khadoran War Jacks he's captured to consolidate his power in Khador, Llael, and Ord, but he lacks WarCasters (something about them having less taint of evil in order to work is the current scholars' guess) to make them effective. Izrador invades the Bloodstone Marches and gains that territory with relative ease, uniting the various tribes of creatures under his banner. Amazingly, Five Fingers in Ord maintains it's independence from both Izrador's forces and Cygnar, declaring itself a Free City. No battles occur within 100 miles of the city, some say at Izrador's direct and dread order. The Protectorate of Menoth is in the throes of a Jihadist holy war with Izrador's forces from the Bloodstone Marches but is still openly hostile with Cygnar. Lord Toruk of Cryx ignored this upstart godling and went about his own plans.

The borders of Cygnar becomes the main battlefield for the next 100 years, with little going on elsewhere, except for Izrador's multiple failed attempts to take the Elven Kingdom of Ios and the Dwarves in Rhul and his slow invasion of Cryx. Corvis has been under seige for those 100 years but life goes on in the City of Ghosts. In fact, a few years ago, an evil magic sword in the hands of a sorceress helped turn the tide in an invasion that almost overwhelmed the city. The high seas belong to Cygnar, mainly because Izrador doesn't have much of a navy since the "Crix problem" started more than two decades ago.

Twenty five years ago, Izrador built a massive fleet and invaded Cryx. The islands have become a meatgrinder for both forces since then, with Izrador's forces slowly taking and keeping ground. Even though Lord Toruk of Cryx is fighting Izrador, nobody's crazy enough to ally with him, as Izrador's forces makes slow headroads to the Cryx capital of Skell.

Life in the conquered lands is much the same as the Midnight setting. Cygnar is now a polyglot of Cygnarans, Khadorans, Ords, Llaelians, Elves and Dwarves, with all the other races in attendance. The countryside is teaming with villages and people. Commerce and trade still happen, just not with the conquered lands. The cities are packed to the gills, even Corvis, despite it's obvious precarious position. Military service is compulsory and, as the nation has been on a war footing for over 100 years, the population is slowing becoming more and more grim and pessimistic about surviving this year, much less the next hundred years. The battlefields are slowly being forced south. It seems that every year, Izrador's forces gain another inch or two of soil. Slowly, Izrador's influence is spreading south but only fools think that surrender is an option.

What do you think, sirs?
