Whatever happened to the new take on Twilight:2000?

Plate full and major personal life issues. There is a version being done by another company (93 Game Studio?), it's called Twilight: 2013. I don't know anything about it other than it's being done.

Star Frontiers? That's pretty soft science fiction.

For harder/grittier science fiction, if you like mecha you can try Jovian Chronicles or Heavy Gear from Dream Pod 9. They also have a setting called Core Command, but unfortunately it never appealed to me and the SilCore rules - while very good - don't match the setting very well. Finally DP9 offers a fantasy-oriented post-apocalyptic game called Tribe 8. All of those games are dual-statted OGL, but I know nothing about it so can't comment on how useful the information is. Along the more cyberpunk route is Blue Planet. BTRC has several science fiction settings for their EABA system and at least one of them features extreme high tech that is magic-like (I forget which one it is though).
