Shackled City adventure path help

Munin

First Post
I've just been selected to run the Adventure Path for my group. I've only paid casual attention to the story in Dungeon, so I'd appreciate any advice from DMs who've run this in the past.
Oh, did I mention that the game starts in two hours?

HELP!!!

Spend your time reading. If know the thing down, then you really don't have to worry. Make notes on what you expect will be difficult (like light levels or how to portray certain NPCs). If you've got that, then make some more noncombatant NPCs or locations to flesh out the city if the PCs get off track - think of ways each can get the PCs back towards the main plot.

BUt if you don't have that, read, re-read, and re-re-read the module. I've been in your situation before, and that's the absolute _BEST_ thing you can do with your time.

I strongly suggest checking out the Adventure Path message board folder at www.paizo.com. There are hundreds of Shackled City discussions that will help you get a better grasp on the series.

...but not in two hours time :)

Before the next game, you also might want to read one or more of the Shackled City Story Hours here, to identify potentially problematic scenes beforehand.

Good Luck!

The first session should not lead the characters too far into the story... perhaps they have already made it into the first dungeon, perhaps not (my group took a whopping whole 4 sessions to enter the forgotten enclave).

In the first case... the start of the dungeon is very easy and straightforward, but it can spread very wide in the subsequent forays. On the Paizo boards there is a thread that gives the locations for all the keys. I have also prepared initiative cards for all the monsters in the dungeon. Read the storyhours on these forums.

In the second case... make yourself familiar with the locations in the city. Try to bring also some people into the picture that will appear in later segments (Maavu, the Stormblades), think about the different organizations, their motivations and how they would be influenced by the actions of the heroes.
