Gavin sneaks up behind the guard, and stabs into the base of his spine viciously with a katar (17+3=20). Unfortunately, what would have been a devastating blow ends up hitting the spine, but not with enough force to sever or damage it. (1+1+2=4). With the commencement of hostilities, Sul'Dan fires an arrow at the guard (17+5-4(combat/range/it's just hard to hit him from here)=18) but the arrow just digs into armor. Jasper also attempts to shoot, (10+4-4=10) but his shot just goes wild inside the combat. Your guide, throws off his robe and begins sprinting down to help Gavin. Alexander also fires an arrow (19+5-4=20), and succeeds in digging it into the shoulder of your opponent (7). Tores also tries to join in the volley of arrows, (17+4-4=17) but again, another arrow bounces off of your foe. Arcanra fires and arrow too, (16+4-4=16) but also only succeeds in bouncing it off of your opponent. A feeling of apprehension falls over the party, as the, of course, black armoured figure turns around, and with one hand grabs Gavin by the throat and picks him up. He then turns, and interposes Gavin as a human shield. While all of this is going on, he draws, left handed, a small crossbow, which he then trains on your guide.
