Shades of Netheril (2)

"There are other victims inside. It would be best if Arcanra saw to them, first. Alexander will survive, after all. I will remain here to guard him, in case any other dangers arise."

"I am afraid," Arcanra begins, "that I have nothing to counter the poison. I believe that it will run it's course over the day, since you are still with us, that means that your body has defeated the worst of it. You will need to rest for the remainder of the day. When I make my prayers tonight, I shall pray for a ward against poison. If you should still need it tomorrow, then I shall be able to help you. I believe that rest should take care of it." Arcanra will tend to anyone else who is wounded and will examine the bodies in the scorpion's cave.

OOC Note

This is just an OOC note to warn everyone that I will not be able to post between 24 Jan and 28 Jan (Australian time - so roughly 23 Jan to 27 Jan US time) as I will be interstate, at a gaming convention, and won't have internet access. Rest assured that I will be back with a vengeance after the convention :)

While I am away, please assume that Sul'Dan goes along with any party decisions. I'll leave our esteemed DM to handle his combat actions, keeping in mind that his typical combat strategy is:

1. Mage Armour; then
2. Pop a couple of arrows off; then
3. Draw sword and charge!

I'll still be around for the next couple of days, of course, but I thought I'd mention this now, while it was on my mind :)

Jasper looks at Alexander for a moment,'He's fine, his sarcasm is intact.' Smiling, the Dwarf maintains a vigil against other Scorpions, staying near his fallen friend.

Arcanra enters the cave and finds about six bodies, three of which are still breathing shallowly. Two of the bodies are bleeding profusely from large claw wounds, and one of the bodies seems to be stable, but has ugly purple discolorations where it was stung twice. The stung body seems to be wearing tannish grey robes with a light chainmail below it. The body is wielding a scimitar and a dagger. After a small amount of healing, all of the people are breathing easier and on the way to recovery.

"As there may be some of our guides amidst those we have rescued, I suggest we stay here until they are well enough to talk ... but I also suggest we ensure they are disarmed, and have been checked for concealed items, before they wake. It would be sensible to be cautious, in the circumstances."

Alexander nods alogn with their words. "Yes, I'll be ok I guess. See to the others." After Arcanra has left, ALex will try to get out of his armour so he can stand up, and after a few moments of unsucsesful work, glances up at Jasper. "Well ya beardless pixie, you gonna gimme a hand here or not?" He smiles up at the dwarf, to show he's joking about the insult.

The three still breathing bodies are disarmed, and comforted. The next day, about noon, one of the injured people awakens, after coversing with Sul'Dan for a short while, he goes back to sleep. By nightfall, all three of the people are awake. After some generous healing from Arcanra, they are back up to full health. They make the party wait one more day, and then begin backtracking towards their village. The next day, they arrive at their village. There, they get some food, and reprovision the party, (with food for 2 weeks). Then, the previously armed man (I'm assuming you returned his mithril shirt and weapons) agrees to guide you towards one of the Shade's operations. After three days of him leading you through the desert and traveling at night, you walk over the rise of a dune, and see an Oasis with a couple of trails of smoke coming out of it. It appears that the sight where you meant to camp the night is currently occupied by a caravan.

"This could be more than a coincidence ... we had better keep our eyes open. Nonetheless, I believe we should go down. These travellers may have news."

[OOC: I have no problem with returning their possessions once we know they are allies.]

"Yeah, I agree. Let's go down and get some information. There might be something worth knowing about what is going on around these parts that we are unaware of."
