shadow sorcerer needs PrC suggestions.

First Post
I plan on playing a Sorcerer/Rogue Gestalt, and would like suggestions on a PrC that would either make illusions harder to resist, or is somehow themed with the plane of shadow.

The reason for this is because he relies a LOT on shadow conjuration and shadow evocation spells. The Rogue half intends to go into shadow dancer, but I'd like something similarly appropo for the Sorcerer half. I'd like something with full caster progression, but of course I'm willing to consider anything. I figured if anyone would know, ya'll would.

Thanks in advance.

I do not know what setting you are playing in, but the Shadow Adept from the Forgotten Realsm (and updated in the Player's Guide to Forgotten Realms book) sounds good - but not perfect as the FR has Shadow Weave which does not do Evocation well. A couple of tweaks to the class to fit your DM's campaign could easily fix this minor aspect.

Full Progression, and the 1st level of Shadow Adept essentially grants you 3 Feats related to the class and shadow magic.

Shadowcrafter, from the Underdark book. Has full 10 level spell progression and it makes your shadow illusions more real and harder to resist. You also become more resistant to illusions.

The Shadowcraft Mage from Races of Stone is for gnomes only, but other than that it's a good fit. (Races of Stone suggests adapting it to a non-gnome cabal of illusionists, so the DM may let you do that.) This 5 level PrC has full spellcasting progression and lets you cast illusion spells silently, your regular illusions can do damage, your illusion spells last longer and it makes your shadow spells more effective.

If I can find it I have my revised Penumbral Lord. Sadly, the original one sucked huge. Like a black hole huge of suckiness.
