Shadow spell questions

Same thing if the party tries to attack the ogres through the forcecage. If they've been blocked, but they see that the party can attack through it (still only 40% chance of that), then they might get new will saves with a bonus.
For this section, I would probably require that the ogres would need to give spellcraft checks, most likely at the DC required to ID a forcecage. Otherwise it's just a spell that lets people attack in, but not out.

And of course if they can make THOSE spellcraft checks, they could probably make the original spellcraft check to work out what the spell was in the first place, and thus have an automatic disbelief...

Thanks Calypso. That seems reasonable, the only problems I see with it are the concerns that Saeviomagy brought up (how would the ogres know what the spell was supposed to do) and the question Thanee just brought up in another thread. For non-damaging spells, it is all or nothing. Not all or 60%. The spell description is unclear though.

How I would have thought to run it in my games is... you cast shadow forcecage, the ogres get will saves to believe it. If they believe it, they are trapped. If they don't, the spell has no effect. While they are trapped, people can still attack them from range (like they can normally do with the barred version), but with no penalty since objects automatically pass through (make their will save). Not giving a will save until they try to pass through it would also work, but it seems easier to just roll the saving throw when the spell is cast.
