Shadows of Greyhawk Campaign

Aye Brenbold...I do suppose that as rational beings we can forgive tempers flaring over little misunderstandings. ,Sweet Nature...what is it with other races and physical touch??? Lavorisian trys his best to hold back a wince from the dwarfs touch. Tasting the brew put in front of him, he takes but a sip noting the STRONG alchohol scent and deciding not to try to challange dwarves to drinking games....at least until they're almost unconsious....

Enter The Lady Sunshadow

As though on que to everyone's anticipation the door to the tavern opens and you see the Lady Sunshadow enter but though it appears her attire remains the same physically she appears to be at least 30 years younger than she looked when you first met.

With a warming smile she approaches the table where you have all gathered and says "Please excuse me for being late and do not be alarmed to my appearance, that is one of the reasons I have gathered all of you here...Please have a seat and I will tell you my tale and what it is I ask of you. Also, Frick could you please bring me a glass of wine. Beaming with apparent pride Frick quickly pours the Lady her wine and sets it in front of her. She then sits at the head of the table and begins her tale...

"As you each can see I appear younger than I did when we met earlier today, that is because I was cursed by a dark sorceror's dying words for having slain him in magical combat. You see I was once part of an adventuring troupe who traveled to far lands in search of only one thing, new challenges! During this time we were able to help many people who could not help themselves and one of those times was when we took it upon ourselves to free the town of Deepingdale from the grip of a dark and foul sorceror whom delved into the dark arts of necromancy. Though he took the life of one of my companions we deafeted him and since I had turned aside his many advances upon me the sorceror Kordel cursed me to forever appear as old as a human my own age than as I would look as a half-elf...sighs...Through his magical aptitude my comanion a cleric of Pelor was able to partialy lift my curse but only to the extent of having it affect me from sunset to sunrise...thus my name bears my curse for only in the sun's shadow will my true form appear. I have been told by a powerful diviner that an ancient magical mirror, a lost hierloom of my human father's ancestors, will break the curse but I have not the stamina nor quickness of age to retrieve it from my families ruined tower. Now here is the difficult part I can provide you with a map of the surrounding area but the actual location is lost to times past, through much research I have been able to narrow it down to the surrounding areas of where the Mist Lake pours down from the Cairn Hills east of Greyhawk in the Mistmarsh. On foot you should arrive to the area within a week dependant upon weather of course. The Mistmarch is home to roving bands of zombies in search of flesh to devour, leftover remnants from battles long ago I suppose. Also be wary of the area surrounding the Mist Lake proper as I am told many lizardfolk have settlements scattered around the lake. The tower you seek is said to be made carved from a single piece of stone and to the untrained eye will look like a rocky outcropping to better blend in with its surroundings. Though I am loath to say it but I know not the condition of the tower or its contents...I hope your quest will reap us both many rewards but I want to let you know upfront I can promise no other treasure than your payment of 50 platinum crowns and magical potion as I promised you earlier. If the tower remains intact then I am sure their are more treasures to be found other than the mirror I seek, which you may have for yourselves for it is only the mirror I want for myself. The mirror itself is said to be made the size of a medium shield and is said tobe imbedded in mytral with studs of diamonds surrounding it's actual surface which is described as a glowing reflection of truth...I have only old scrolls and tomes to gather this information so I pray you are able to find the tower and the mirror and make it safely back. Now what questions may I answer for you as I am sure you may be perplexed ?"

Gilda's eyes get wide as the lady tells the tale. Her mind realing with the possibilities. My Lady, Will you be able to purchase mounts or a wagon or such for our traveling? Gilda has obviously been hooked on every word and is making a list of equipment she will need.

Before she starts her tale Gremag gets her meal for her, and he makes sure that the wine she gets is the wine he opened for the group.

"The only question I have is... will you be coming with us my lady. Oh and, what do you think of the food?"

Lady Dalisandrea smiles and says Thank you the food is delicious and the wine superb but I will be staying here awaiting your return. As far as mounts it is always best to start an aventure walking so you know where you came from! I do believe Justiel and her cart will suffice for transporting the mirror back and I will pay for all food provisions needed for the trip. I have also arranged for the creation of a box to keep the mirror in should you find it...." The Lady stares off for a few moments, then looking back at each of you says "Is there anything else you wish to know ?"

Damien sits back, withdrawn from the conversation and eyes Dalisandrea expectantly, having no questions himself, awaiting her to finish her instructions if someone else does not speak up.

Well Lady, traveling to this tower and finding that which you seek does not seem to be much of a problem. But I would ask that you do me a favor in exhange. Lavorisian leans forward to the ladyIf at all possible with the knowledge you have in town, could you possibly find any information on a human mage who would side with goblins to harm my lands, I would apprieciate the help.

Cid, stammering, manages to say something along the lines of, "I was... er... wondering... um... if perhaps... you could... er... reward me by allowing me to treat you to dinner upon my return? That is my only request... er I mean reward that I ask for." After mustering those words out, Cid takes a deep breath and takes down the rest of his mostly filled wine in a single gulp, almost as if trying to change the subject with his motion.
