Wow, that was a long time for post - I thought you had just stopped (tbh I had). You can use faeries for flies now. Which ones are pillbugs again? And good luck with the campaign.

Pill Bugs (aka Wood Lice). Not an insect at all but actually an air breathing crustacean that can roll up into a ball for defense.
