Shadows

i was wondering if there is a rule on the size of a creatures shadow. There is a spell in Relics and rituals that the descrpition of is that you cast the spell and the creatures show becomes a conduit for damaging them. You only need to make a touch attack. so how large in the shadow that a creature casts?

I'd say in normal conditions the size of a creatures shadow is the same as the creature, eg Small creature = small shadow.

but that's an easy generalisation. You could vary it by a size category based on circumstances.

I would agree with Tallarn. Though if you wanted different things and didn't mind more work maybe you could do different shadow sizes but the more it differs from the being casting the shadow the weaker it is. Just l ike a normal shadow, the outline gets less and less distinct and normal looking the more it is elongated. Just a thought.

Well two things. I remember making "shadow puppets" as a kid on the wall. The father you got away from the light sorce the larger the "puppet" became. I didn't know of a mechanic for this in game. I was thinking that it would be based on what the light sorce was. so if it was a torch (I think that it gives a 20 ft radius) then it would cast a 40 ft shadow. Unless the light is close to you it is usually bigger than you.

Dragongirl the spell makes no distinction as to the "density of the shadow". The spell is called shadow strike.

Mmmmmmm. Courious this is an interesting topic. Ups that was outload. Mustn't talk to myself outloud.

Hey aren't there any Forgoten Realms fans out there playing Shadow Weave users? This is for you.
