mongoose and green ronin both have shaman books.

I own the mongoose one - its pretty good.

Read the GRR one, its good as well, but I prefer the feel of the Mongoose one.

check the reviews of those products - theyre reasonably enlightning.

Well Clay, personally I think the answer will lie somewhat in what how you envision the interaction of the spirits and spirit world in your campaign. But I will try to give you some suggestions and how they operate.

If the spirits are strictly an abstract concept and flavor for your world then you may want to check out the shaman from Oriental Adventures.

If you envision the shaman in semi-native american tradition, with a lot of wilderness trappings and where the spirits are encountered are mostly antagonistic then check out Green Ronins version in The Shamans Handbook.

If you envision the shaman in a psuedo-siberian or old world tradition, and the spirits have more of an interaction and personality (both friendly and antagonistic) then you may want to go with the Mongoose version in Shaman's.

There are also a couple of versions in the Netbook of Classes.

There is also a shaman core class in the Hunt: Rise of Evil book from Mind's Eye. Its a good book, with a few other interesting core classes, as well as blight and blood magic systems that can be added to the game.

The Shaman's Handbook is nice, too.

Yeah. The OA shaman is really an alt.priest with some setting-specific trappings. It's a pretty good alt.priest, though. :)

I think you have the Mongoose and GR shamans mixed up. The Mongoose one seems more of the native American type to me, whereas the GR one is more generic.
