I'm brainstorming today with new feats/spells/items and I'm looking for other's opinions...
How overpowered would the ability to customize a wildshaped/polymorphed form be (for instance to change into a wolf that was slightly weaker, but slightly more agile - -2/+2)?
What about the ability to make those choices when taking the new form vs selecting only one type (ie. you always make strong wolverines but hearty boars)?
And the big one, how would you balance a personalized form that used the character's base stats modified for the new race/animal type instead of being "average"? That last one could be really powerful or really weak depending on character design and stat generation method, so I don't even know where to begin.
What about the ability to impersonate a specific individual and have the appropriate ability scores (so when you become Lothar the Human Barbarian, you don't have a 10 Strength)? That one would have to have some limitations to prevent turning into some epic powerhouse with insane stats - and that doesn't even get to the idea of changing into someone with inherent stat bonuses. Would those be considered part of the character's natural ability scored or not?
