Shape Soulmeld question

OK, so I've asked this in two other forums, but its timely to my character:

The Question:
If a meldshaper (Incarnate, Totemist, Soulborn) were to take the Shape Soulmeld feat, would this soulmeld count against their daily limit by virtue of their class?

My interpretation:
I'd think no, that the feat essentially gave a bonus daily soulmeld, but the rules just say "A meldshaper’s level limits the number of soulmelds he can have shaped at any given time." It seems like the Shape Soulmeld feat wasn't in the author's mind when he wrote this, because a strict interpretation would mean that non-meldshapers, who never have a "daily soulmeld limit" due to class abilities, could never use this feat (which I'm pretty sure isn't the case, b/c in the feat description says "if you have essentia...").

I've seen lots of theoretical builds that use Shape Soulmeld w/o any meldshaper levels (for example, to get evasion to get into Fochlucan Lyricist).

Should I put up the feat description? Is there some errata on the subject?

I would say no, as it does not specifically say so.
