Shardmind Bard

I was wondering if anyone could help me create a Shardmind Bard? With +2 Int and +2 Char and the Telepathy, wouldn't they make great bards?

The Telepathy would let me communicate with any creature within 5 squares, this means to me, No Language barier within 5 squares.

Just wondering if anyone could help with the build as shardmind is not in my Character Builder yet. Thank you.

Yeah my first thought when I saw this was not a singing bard, but rather a resonanting crystal, amplifying and intensifying sound.
 

Virtue of Cunning, obviously.

My opinion is not only do shardminds make decent bards, they make GREAT bards.

+2 to 3 skills, the mandatory 2 are great for bards, and the third skill is of your choice, and therefore great for bards.

Shard Swarm gives Combat Advantage. They'll come to you to try to attack... if escaping them also makes you do a better job as a leader then that's all upside.

The real advantage tho?

Psychic Focus.

As a wandbard you get TONS of psychic powers available. As a shardmind, you can get a +2 feat bonus to damage with those.

Oh, sure, I was doing a *fine* job of resisting the lure of the character builder ... and then y'all go and say 'harmonic resonance' and 'Psychic Focus' and I was undone.

This qualifies as "quick and dirty." With a dex of 8 I envision this character as a largely *stationary* harmonic crystal...and given the particular choices of weapon and powers, it's largely helpless in the face of something resistant to psychic damage. I probably should have given it a dagger...

That's two monsters in both Monster Manuals.

Instead, why not worry about disadvantages that actually happen.
