Shatter : Crystalline Creature?

As I read it the spell targets only brittle objects, not metals nor wood or leather.
So you may shatter the gems of a helm of brilliance but not a longsword.
There are very few creatures with a (brittle) crystalline structure. Some golems come to mind (staind glass golem, rubin golem).
Objects are there more than enough to target: anything made of stone, flask of glass, gems, windows, dishes and the dagger made of glass (for evil rituals).
For metal objects exist some metal only spells like heat metal.
For wooden objects take warp wood.
Just my point of view.

There's also:
(from Glossary, description of Construct type)
Immunity to any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects, or is harmless).
I think the color of the spell, at least, would let it work against at least some constructs.
