Shattering weapons on a creature

hi! i am working on a monster whose hide is so thick and hard (5 feet of rock) like a boulder that weapons may shatter on impact. maybe only slashing and piercing weapons. the creature has DR 20/bludgeoning. i'm wondering if there are any existing mechanics to do this, or if there is a way to tweak existing mechanics to do this.

How about simply, if the weapon doesn't get through the DR it must make a Fortitude save DC 15 (or automatically for non-magical or non-special material weapons)?

Or you could limit it to those weapons that do half or less damage than the DR (10 or less).

Just a couple of ideas.

How about basing it the Rust Monster's ability?

Just change it so that it happens when the monster is hit or when it tries to sunder a weapon. Call it "Diamond Skin", or something.
