Sherlock

To me the 90-minute format felt perfect in the 1st and 3rd episodes, padded in the 2nd. If they can generally keep that 1st and 3rd episode feel up I'll be more than happy to enjoy 90-minute episodes.

I've only seen the 3rd episode, and liked the 90 minute format. It gave them space to develop the story, and didn't interrupt the flow like two 45 minute episodes would have done.

Boy I hate that cliffhanger at the end of Episode 3. And it came across as a little tacked on..

Oh, I don't think it was tacked on at all. I think it was the whole point.

[sblock]As soon as Watson revealed that he was wired, I turned to my wife and said "That bomb's going off, presumably killing Holmes and Moriarty both. The swimming pool is the modern "incarnation" of the waterfall at Reichenbach."

Okay, so that's not exactly how it turned out. But I have to believe the decision to have the final confrontation between H and M in a watery location was deliberate.

I am looking forward to a second series, but I hope they do, indeed, kill off Moriarty. Unlike some, I liked the portrayal they chose of him; it was nicely different. But Moriarty was never the driving force behind Holmes' ongoing investigations, and I think his shtick would get tiring if they kept it going.[/sblock]
