If the mage does anything other than take normal moves (since he is hasted he could take three moves) he will provoke the AoO.

Actually, I don't agree with that.

Since it's not really the subject of this thread, I won't contend on the issue here. However, Mikhail should know that there's a difference of opinion on the matter. (I very nearly inserted "unless he's hasted" in my first post above.)
