Shifter PrC -- werf it?

The Shifter PrC from MotW seems pretty cool - it opens up a lot of room for creative thinking because it's just so versatile: this creature for combat power, that creature for sneaking, the other one as a bluff/disguise.

Not bad at all. Still, a normal Druid gets a bit of that 'as-is' through normal wildshaping, plus they continue to get spells...

Any thoughts from ppl about this class? Maybe you've already played one - is it a fun class to play? Powerful? Interesting?

The problem with Shifters I have found is that they loose spellcasting and don't really get any good monsters to turn into till the higher levels of the class. I stuck with bears and a scimitar for some time...
